The Asian yuzu fruit is hard to come by in Europe. It looks very similar to a lemon on the outside. The kernels inside are centered and larger than the lemons we use. The most interesting thing about the fruit is its intense taste. It is like a mixture of tangerine, lime, lemon and grapefruit. The juice tastes sweet, sour and bitter at the same time. A perfect companion for your gin and tonic. A dash of mango balsamic vinegar and the rich, soft roasting aromas of Arabica coffee beans make this drink the star of your next gin and tonic tasting.
Yuzu fruits are not easy to find in the western parts of the world. However, you can simply buy juice or puree online. You can freeze the leftovers in portions. So you always have a Yuzu GT when the new neighbor comes over.
You can also easily make mango balsamic vinegar yourself. Put the peel of a mango and a high-quality, white balsamic vinegar in a jar and let it airtight for at least 3 days.
For a more intense coffee taste, you can also add whole Arabica beans to the glass.
