Tip 1: You can skip the gin for a virgin basil-kiwi lemonade. It tastes delicious in summer even without the alcohol and is really refreshing!
Tip 2: Some like the kiwi fruit mushy and sweet whereas others prefer the kiwis a little harder and sweet-sour. For the kiwi-basil lemonade, we recommend the harder kiwis.
Did you know that you can eat the hairy skin of the kiwi fruit? This is even recommended because the peel of the kiwi provides additional fiber and there are many vitamins and nutrients right underneath. Give it a try, even if it takes a bit of effort at the beginning.
Kiwi Basil Gin Smash
- 1.5 oz gin
- 3/4 oz Lime juice
- 3/4 oz Kiwi Basil Mix
- Ice cubes
- Kiwi Basil Mix:
- Put the pulp of 5 kiwis, 5 oz water, 2 tablespoons sugar and 15 fresh basil leaves in a blender. Blend properly so that the ingredients break down and the mixture has a great color. As soon as there are no more large leaves to be seen, the strain the contents into a bottle.
- Fill a glass with 2-3 ice cubes
- Add the gin and press the lime juice into it.
- Now top up the glass with the rest of the kiwi-basil mixture.
