Before the Mai Tai took over as the king of Tiki cocktails, that title belonged to the Zombie cocktail. But so good is this drink, that it has become a classic rum drink that is loved around the world.
Original Mai Tai Recipe
- Tumbler or Tiki Mug
- Citrus juicer
- 60 ml dark rum
- 30 ml lime juice
- 15 ml triple sec
- 10 ml sugar syrup
- 5 ml almond syrup
- Place the all the ingredients with 3 ice cubes in a shaker and shake vigorously for 6 seconds.
- Strain on crushed ice in a tumbler or a Tiki mug.
- Top up with a little crushed ice.
- Garnish with a spring of mint.
